Being baby number #3, I feel like I am a seasoned pro by now (well I would hope so). Meagan five years ago was a serial over-packer and I now like to try to travel as light as I can. I am all about efficiency and minimalism this time around.

I am basing this list on a 2-3 night stay and there may be things on this list that you don't think you will need or may not apply to you.

HOSPITAL BAG ORGANISERS

I have purchased mine from The Nest the set comes with six different bags that help you organize bubs clothes and important items (first outfit, announcement items, etc.) so that they are easy to find in your bag.You can alternatively use zip lock bags if you want too.

THE COMFORT MUMMA DRESS

This dress has been a godsend, not long during pregnancy but it will be incredible for post-baby too. I am scheduled to have a c-section this time around so this dress will be really great for me so that I don't have any waist-bands sitting on my incision. It will also make my post-op care much easier as I won't have to pull down waistbands etc for the nurses to check my incision. The extra bonus of this dress is that it is nursing friendly & can be worn casually as well (chuck on a denim jacket and some sneakers and your good to go).

BUBBA READY KIT

This little business is such a godsend for busy mums like me; they offer a variety of kits that are ready-made for you to just pop into your hospital bag. No rushing around at the shops and buying huge bottles of shampoo to put into your bag for a three night stay.

ICE ICE BOOBY

I have never used these before, with both Willow and Blair I froze nappies or pads. These are fab as they can be both heated or cooled for pain relief in those sore spots. They will be super handy post-op for me and also at home once my milk comes in.

LONGER CHARGING CORD

One of my biggest pet peeves, when I was in and out of hospital during Blair's pregnancy, was the fact that my phone charging cable didn't reach my bed. So early on in the piece, I invested in a 2m or 3m charging cable. You can find these on either eBay or at Kmart.

BYO YOUR FAVE TEA

I am a sucker for a late-night cup of tea and my fave tea during pregnancy and post-birth is from Mama Body Tea. I took with me last time their Chill Out Mama and also the Mama's Milk to help bring my milk in.

SPARE SHIRT FOR DAD

Babies make mess and labor can be messy and long... need I say more.
Just pop a shirt in for Dad just in case.

PACKING INTO ONE SUITCASE

The last two times I went in I had a bag for me and a bag for baby. This time I plan on just taking the one suitcase (our suitcases have a zip/close section so I can close these and it keeps each side of the suitcase separate).

I will use one side for me and one side for bubs, this just means fewer bags, etc. when we are in there and hopefully less unpacking when we get home.

SNACKS

I have always popped in a few extra snacks into my bag that I know I like to snack on during the day or night when I am in the hospital.

I like to pack some snack bags of popcorn, some gummy lollies &
biscuits.
