When I was pregnant with Blair I never had a chance to put a nursery together for her (until two days before she came home and I rushed around like a madwoman to throw something together). I was quite excited at the prospect of doing a gender-neutral nursery, my style has evolved so much since Willow (she had a grey and white chevron wall..... that I hand-painted). 

I really wanted this space to be somewhere that both Nathan & I could enjoy some quiet time with the new baby, a tranquil place that was a sanctuary for our new family member. It was also really important to me that the look of the room could be easily tweaked and transitioned once we knew the gender of bubs and could also grow with she/he as their interests/style evolved.

The color palette has been made up of creams, raw timber, sage, and some fresh greenery to keep the room feeling quite fresh and on-trend. Again we do have quite a bit of timber as the feature in our home (which I love) so we again carried this trend into bubs room with accents of raw wood, sage, and natural colors to keep with gender-neutral theme whilst allowing us to incorporate either Navy & Mustards or Pinks & Mustards once bub is here to make the space a little more gender-specific. We installed all our sheers with Dollar Curtains and Blinds over a year ago now and they have been the perfect addition to all of our bedrooms in the home the addition of the sheer curtain's in both the nursery and girls bedroom really make the spaces feel so calming and tranquil.

Sarah & Sheree from the 'The Cullin Interiors' is a dynamic duo of two beautiful Mumma's that are taking over the interior world one room at a time. The Cullin Interiors were scheduled to revamp the Paediatric Intensive Care ward at the Monash Children's however due to COVID19 restrictions they had rescheduled to 2021 - and thankfully secured this wonderful community project for us to work together to create a beautiful space for not only my gorgeous girls but also from our new bundle of joy.

Some of you may know and some may not but our gorgeous little Blair was born at 29+1weeks at Monash Clayton due to many complications with my pregnancy with her it got to a stage where she was better out than in. The incredible team at Monash Children's hospital and the team within the NICU ward are the reason that we have our bouncy, beautiful girl with us today so to be able to work in line with Sarah, Sheree and to help raise awareness for the incredible work that the Monash Children's Hospital does. 

The Brightest Star charity was established in 2019 in loving memory of Oisín David Sexton. 

In May 2017, Sarah and Chris tragically lost their little boy Oisín at only 20 months of age, after a freak accident.

Sarah and Chris spent five days living every parent's nightmare at the Monash Children’s Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where the Doctors and Nursing staff tried desperately to save Oisín’s life. Despite the best efforts from everyone, Oisín sadly lost his battle. Sarah and Chris whispered a lifetime worth of I love you’s in his ear, held him tight, and said goodbye to their darling little man.

​​The Brightest Star charity has been created by Oisín's parents, to honor the life of their beautiful little boy, who will always be held tightly in the hearts of all who knew him and will forevermore be the brightest shining star.  

The Brightest Star is a foundation set up for Monash Health that helps to raise money and support for the Paediatric Ward within the Monash Children's Hospital they have been able to through their fundraising employed a practitioner to provide support to families experiences unfortunate outcomes during their stays at Monash Children's Hospital.
